SP96 was a pretty slow, mellow event. Everyone was in kind of a funk towards the end, but then we all started eating uncooked spaghetti noodles, and somehow that cheered us right up. A phenomenon I'll never understand. But we all were happy when it ended, and we went to the movie, so I guess that's all that matters. And the theme was especially cool. We also did play Chicken Limbo for the first time, which was a very nice present given to me by Shawn and Jen.

since i live by and stand by the fact that details are the spice of life
and just make everything better all around, here are some superprom 96
details:
about halfway through the usual superprom day, ashleigh left to go set up
for an acoustic electric show at her house. not long after, i also went to
her house to see the show. it was mostly andy deVos and his buds (back when
the freedom riders was a mostly acoustic band.) i requested my favorite
song of theirs and andy told me he was honored because it was the only
request they'd ever gotten. after the reallly cool show we brought all the
special guests from shleigh's to superprom, where the spaghetti-eating
commenced.
the night before was just as raucous. i had just returned that very same
day from a three-week tour of europe with dave mcnell and some other band
geeks by way of the rad icelandair service, and so i hadn't slept for an
unusual amount of time. against my better judgement, you picked me and
shleigh up at like 1 in the morning and we went to taco bell. the only
other thing i remember was that i was laughing at things that i hadn't said
yet (because i had pictured my selff... it's very complex) which is what i
now tell people is the sign and symptom of the last stage of sleep
deprivation.
