Chickens,

Once again November is upon us. That means it's time to do some
serious turkey eating, to mentally prepare ourselves for weeks of
Christmas music being played everywhere, and for me to rewrite the
email announcing a Super Prom planning meeting.

This November the Super Prom Association will be holding the Super
Prom 13 planning meeting, as it's too late to plan Super Prom 12 and
planning Super Prom 14 seems premature. Per tradition the SP13
planning meeting will be held the day after Thanksgiving, Friday,
November 25. This year our Special Advisor, Jason Myers, has agreed
to host the meeting. We'll start to gather for food and drinking
around 7:00, with the meeting starting after we've sufficiently
satisfied our hunger. We'll take care of the food; you should bring
beer.

The meeting will have the usual format. We'll be voting on the price
for SP13 and discussing the budget, as well as reviewing the current
membership and financial situation of the Association. This year we
plan to make a special effort to increase our membership rolls. We'll
also be looking for feedback on the pros and cons of SP12 and be
taking suggestions on all Super Prom related matters. As always, the
meeting will be followed by late-night debauchery.

If you can't come, then feel free to send me any SP-related thoughts
that you might have. If you are coming, then let me know for
food-planning purposes.

Oh, if you've been wondering when the SP12 webpage is going to posted,
I've been wondering that too. My plan is to get that up this weekend.
However, that has been my plan for the last 17 weekends.

See you at Super Prom,
Matt

Subject: 13, the when should it be email
Date: 1/22/2006 11:10 PM
Dearest Chickens,

One of my many New Year's resolutions for 2006 was to actually send
out Super Prom emails on time. I've already broken my resolution to
get to work everyday by 10:30 a.m. at least five times, but I'm hoping
to do better on this one. So here it is, the January email, sent out
in January.

As most of you know, the role of the January email is to pick the date
for Super Prom, because when a new year starts and we all get new
calendars, the most important question to answer is, "When's Super
Prom?"

The following Saturdays are candidates for SP13: July 1, July 8, July
15, July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, and August 26.
The date is picked by process of elimination, so please respond to
this email in one of two ways:

(100 points) By telling me that any date is ok with you.

(75 points) By telling me on which dates you would not be able to
attend Super Prom, and why.

We'll allow three weeks for your responses to come in, and then the
Committee will choose a date. With over one hundred people on the
guestlist, there's no guarantee that everyone will be able to come,
but there's much less of a guarantee that you'll be able to come if
you don't send in your availability.

Speaking of the guestlist, we'd like it to be bigger. The Super Prom
Committee is currently seeking cool, exciting new people to be members
of the Super Prom Association. If you have a friend that you think
should come to Super Prom, fill out the referral form on the website.
You'll get points!

Also on the webpage you'll find pictures of Super Prom 12, and you'll
see that I've actually started a write-up of last year's event. We
have a new server with plenty of room for pictures, so let me know if
you have any other pictures to post, from last year or any prior year.

I'll send out the email announcing the date next month. That's all
for now.

See you at Super Prom,
Matt

note my new email address, mattberry@superprom.com. If you'd like a
superprom.com email address, let me know. You can access it via
webmail or download it to your computer.

Dearest Superpromers,

Look at this, the February SP email being sent out in February! I'm
on a freakin' roll this year (though cutting it very close).

As you may have guessed from the subject, we've decided on a date for
Super Prom 13, and that date is July 22nd. As predicted there were no
dates when everyone could come, but this was the date that maximized
attendance.

So, you should start getting your SP travel plans in order. Get your
plane tickets and request off work now! Also, let me know if you'd be
interested in getting a block of rooms reserved at some nearby hotel.
If enough people are we can arrange that. Finally, it's time to start
your SP fitness program. You have twenty and a half weeks to get into
shape for the big day.

The February email also marks the beginning of Theme Selection season.
We're are currently accepting Theme suggestions on the website, and
will be until the March email comes out.

That is all.

See you at Super Prom!
Matt

Subject: 13, the rank the songs email

Superpromers:

Welcome to the April Super Prom email. Note that there is no March
email, at least not in years where I get married. We have five things
to go over.

1. Super Prom 13 is scheduled for July 22nd. That gives you 82 more
days to mentally and physically prepare yourself. I put a countdown
on the website to aid in everyone's training. If you haven't yet made
travel arrangements, do so. If you're interested in getting a hotel
room, let me know and we can try to reserve a block of rooms somewhere
(we may have to first construct a hotel somewhere near Super Prom).

2. (250 points) Send me your address! More precisely, send me the
address where you'll be at the end of May, because that's when we're
sending out invitations.

3. This item intentionally left blank.

4. The Theme selection process has moved to phase II: Primary Theme
Ballot. The 57 suggestions for Theme have been put into a convenient
and fun web form so you can rank them. The top songs will go onto the
final ballot. I'd like to get the final ballot done soon so we can
pick the Theme and get the invitations out by the end of May, so
please rank the songs soon (100 pts).  It won't take you very long;
there're less suggestions than usual.

5. You are a chicken.

See you at Super Prom,
Matt

Subject: 13, the vote for Theme email
Date: 5/21/2006 11:09 PM
Dear Superpromers,

Welcome to the May email. There's just one last thing to do before we
send out invitations, and that's pick a Theme song. The suggestions
have been narrowed down to 10 finalists, based on your rankings. The
ballot is available at superprom.com.

So review the ballot, discuss it with your friends, and vote. You
have until we print the invitations to submit your vote, which will
either be 2 or 3 weekends from now, depending on when the Committee
manages to Meet.

Also, we will need your address to send you an invitation. If you
didn't send it after the last email, please do so now. Thank you for
your support.

Love and kisses,
Matt

Subject: 13, the you should RSVP email
Date: 7/11/2006 10:07 PM
Hey party people (or potential party people),

Just wanted to send out a reminder that Super Prom 13, Anyway You Want
It, with 33% more BFT than SP 12, will be held on July 22nd. That's
10 days and 16 hours from now. Are you coming? You should. It's
going to be utterly spectacular.

And, you should let me know that you're coming. Or that you're not.
Or that you don't know. We didn't set an RSVP deadline this year
(because it's never adhered to anyway), but keeping me apprised of
your status will help make Super Prom awesomer. We're going to be
ordering the beer this weekend, so I'd like to have a fairly reliable
count by then so we know how many kegs to get. Plus, the Committee
will be making our annual trip to Party City this Saturday, and it
would help if we knew how many hundreds of dollars we can safely
afford to spend on streamers and balloons. Food shopping is done the
day before Super Prom, so I'd like to have a final count by then. So
let me know what you're doing. You can see the current status of the
guestlist at www.superprom.com.

Also let me know if you'd like to bring any friends. You're welcome
to bring anyone who has $35 and is unlikely to ruin Super Prom. You
can send their money in with yours.

I'll send out the usual final email with directions and everything you
ever wanted to know about SP next week.

SY@SP,
Matt

www.superprom.com

PS. Want points? Of course you do. You get points for RSVPing, and
for paying, and for recruiting new members. Also, send in suggestions
for songs to play at Super Prom and I'll throw some more points your
way.

Super Prom 13 is in 2 days, 14 hours, 46 minutes, and 23 seconds. We
have much to discuss. You'll find this is much like last year's
email, except the 12s have become 13s (and the 11s have become 12s).
This email contains:

1. General announcements.
2. Weekend schedule.
3. What to bring.
4. What not to bring.
5. Known risks.
6. Contest descriptions.
7. Directions.

SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13

Announcements:

First off, if you haven't RSVPed, or let me me know who you're
bringing, please do so now. If we don't have a good final count,
there is a very real possibility that we will run out of beer. That
would be tragic. And you should come, and you should bring others, or
there is the very real possibility that we'll lose money. I estimate
we need to get the count to 97 to break even. Eighty foot obstacle
courses are expensive. Make sure the guestlist page at
www.superprom.com reflects your status.

If you haven't paid by now, you should do so the next time you see me,
hopefully by Friday. If you haven't paid by the time Super Prom
starts, the Supromfficer is authorized to throw you in the pool. Then
again, he's not coming this year, so you'll be fine unless we find a
replacement.

This year we are having Scopes as the souvenir - those pictures you
get at the beach inside the little telescope thingy. The photographer
will be there from 3:00 until 7:00, and will make them right there.
Everyone can get one; extras are $5. So you and your date can get one
with just the two of you in it, and another with me!

SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13

List of things to bring:

1. Yourself.
2. Your date.
3. Your bathing suit.
4. Your towel.
5. Extra clothes (forecast looks like it will get cold at night, with a chance of thunderstorms, plus you might get thrown in the pool).
6. Sun screen.
7. Money if you still haven't paid by then. Also, bring money if
you'll want extra Scopes. Plus, we still have some SP 12 t-shirts,
available for $5..
8. Smokes, if you smoke. Bring a lot; you will smoke more during Super
Prom than any other day of the year, plus I'll probably be smoking
your cigarettes.

Since you people seem to have trouble with this --
List of things to take with you when you leave:

1. Yourself.
2. Your date.
3. Your bathing suit.
4. Your towel.
5. Your extra clothes. Especially your sandals and sunglasses.
6. Your Scopes.
7. Your certificates and prizes.
8. Whatever else you take to Super Prom.

And since this has also been a problem --
List of things not to take with you when you leave:

1. My date.
2. Super Prom Hula Hoops.
3. Other Super Prom owned equipment.
4. Other people's stuff.
5. My family's towels.

And finally, to round out the list of lists --
List of things not to take to Super Prom:

1. Drugs. Super Prom is a drug-free event, drugs should not be brought
to or near Super Prom.
2. Drama. Super Prom is a drama-free event, leave your situations at
the door.
3. Weapons.
4. Pets. One dog is all Super Prom can handle.

SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13

Dangers:

1. Dog poop. The yard will be cleaned prior to SP13, but I can't
completely guarantee my work. Also, Rocky will continue to poop during
Super Prom.
2. Supromolympics. Supromolympics, like any sport, poses a risk of injury.
3. Alcohol. Warning: alcohol is present at Super Prom. Alcohol is a
central nervous system depressant that can affect your judgment and
reflexes. Overuse of alcohol will give you a hangover, and cause you
to do silly and stupid things you are likely to regret. You are urged
to use alcohol wisely at Super Prom, and are forbidden from driving
home drunk.
4. Incoming missiles: Stomp Rockets will be raining down on Super Prom
throughout the day.
5. Trampoline: Someone gets hurt every year on the trampoline. Don't
be that person.

SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13

Supromolympics:

You will need to form teams of 6 for the S'lympics this year. It's a
good idea to have a team in mind before you come, so you don't have to
worry about it during SP.

Person 1: Blind Island Race down the length of the pool.

Persone 2: Pie-eating race with your hands behind your back.

Persons 3-5: 3-legged wheelbarrow race. 2 people tied to together
holding the legs of the 3rd person who is in wheelbarrow position.

Person 6: Race through the 80' inflatable obstacle course.

Finish by forming a human pryramid.

We will be timing the race, and the team with the fastest time wins.
Two teams go at a time. As always, the Committee reserves the right
to make changes as needed at any time, and promises not to referee the
Supromolympics fairly. To make things interesting, I may refuse to
explain the rules again during Super Prom.

SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13SP13

Awards:

Here is a list of awards and their rules:

King and Queen: Voted upon by anonymous ballot administered and
counted by the reigning King and Queen, Jim and Beth. Prize is one set
of crowns made by Jim and Beth, and one set of paper bag crowns to be
worn while diving in the pool.

Winner: To the person with the most points. Prize is the SP12
soundtrack. Cathy gets to give her points away on Saturday.

Rookie of the Year: Chosen by the Committee, with input welcomed from
other non-rookies. Open to any person who has never been to Super Prom
before. Must be present at Roll Call to be eligible. Not normally
awarded to someone who was invited to a previous Super Prom.

Stomp Rocket: To the person who launches a Stomp Rocket the farthest
with it landing inside the boundaries of the yard. You must notify a
Committee member following your attempt for a judgment. Note: If you
hit someone jumping on the trampoline you automatically win.

Chicken Limbo: To the person who makes the most successful passes
under that annoying squawking #*^@*$% chicken.

Best Dressed (Male and Female): To the person with the best overall
get-up.

Most Improved: To the person who has most improved themselves.

Trampoling: To the person who does the most exciting acrobatic stunt
on the trampoline, or gets hurt the most.

Slip N Slide: To the person who uses the Slip N Slide.

Farthest distance travelled: To the person who travelled the farthest
to get to Super Prom, from a place to which they will be returning
after Super Prom.

More categories will most likely be added. Prizes have not yet been
determined for all awards, but are sure to include a handsome SP13
certificate signed by the Committee.
