Slightly Modified (.... implies deleted material)
10/16
Tech has beaten Syracuse 62-0. I am now at
Bronwyn's apartment, Father of the Bride is playing on the TV that I
stole from Bronwyn's roommate. Matt Morgan put the movie in and then
immediately passed out. During a scene where the characters are
discussing the wedding cake, I start thinking about my ice-cream
wedding cake and how fucking cool that's going to be. Then I start to
think about wedding planning in general, and how that will be fun.
Then I think about how much fun Super Prom planning is, and I say to
myself, "We have to have Super Prom 2000!"
10/17
Called Greg to tell him of my decision to hold Super Prom.
Instructed him to buy a notebook he could carry around with him, to
supplement my notebook. Later I told Dave in an e-mail.
11/5
Home for the weekend. Standing on the deck, looking around the
yard thinking about SP. Start to imagine having some sort of Crazy
Obstacle Course. Then suddenly a Great Idea comes to mind.
Supromolympics.
Later that night - I say this word to Dave at Padonia Station. He
is excited - in fact a look of shear joy overcomes his face. Glen has
a similar reaction, and Grant manages quite a bit of enthusiasm
considering how drunk he is. Later at the Irish Pub Brad is told, and
he gets so excited he starts to jump for joy.
11/6
Call Greg to say "Supromolympics" to him. He says, "Confirmed."
Ash is also at Ithaca so I tell her. Her reaction is, "Oh my!"
Everyone is excited.
11/15
Send out mass e-mail for Planning Meeting the day after
Thanksgiving (26th). Due to mess in my basement meeting will be at
Keo's. Starting at 7:00.
Shawn responds to email, which results is lots of others doing the
same, creating a mess. I deduct 5 points from Shawn, Jim, Dave, and
Matt Beres. Then I set a rule that no one else can use the list,
penalty of not receiving a ticket to Super Prom 2000.
Greg then sends out a mass email.
A rule was also set that no one who is still in High School can go
to the meeting.
11/19
In Philly the night before the Tech - Temple game. Dave and I
discuss a ticket concept. Fill Greg in on Sunday (21st).
11/22
Buy notebook at CVS. Start filling stuff in at Matt Morgan's flag
football game. It's pretty cold here. Matt's team is down 14-6 at
the half. Matt has scored 1 point.
Other things I've considered:
11/23
Imported 42 non-Berries to book. Were 54.
11/26 8:00 PM
First SP2K planning meeting! 10 people.

Later... Supromolympics just the Crazy Obstacle Course thing. Everything else Supromlatives. In fact - Supromolympics could be a Supromlative.
11/28
Awards committee would be good. Maybe a crown committee as well,
and set-up for supromlatives / supromolympics.
12/5 On phone with Dave
July 22 Prom
4 week adventure
more balls, smaller inflatables
balls w/ worms
Need to design obstacle course
12/29
Working on tickets on Alan's computer. Using Publisher / Paint.
Much work left to do. But we know what we are doing now and how to do
it.
1/27/00
Send out a "What are you doing this summer" email to everyone, to find out
possible dates, suggesting 7-22 SP.
Responses:
Shawn - no Proms on June 29 (A Tuesday during which I already said Dave and I would
be gone)
Kathy - open to all of them
Matt Morgan - doesn't care, tell him at least 1.5 hours in advance
Seth - bitching because his name wasn't on the list
Sam - In Georgia all summer, says she won't be coming - this causes me great alarm
and disapointment
Keo - 7-22 fine
Bo - "F#@$ing goats, but only if you hold their tails for me..."
Emily - "Go on Matt, 7/22 is good"
Jim says he is getting SP fever. Demands changes to the SP 99
page, or he won't come to SP2K, and he will resign as Myers' chair.
Also makes comments on CBW3 page which he demands be added, or he will
boycott SP 2001. I meet all his demands, but admonish him somewhat
and tell him he can't make any more.
Jenn Greiche, a coworker of Jim's, also emails me about Super
Prom, I suggest that she might want to go with Jim.
Grant - "July 22 sounds good." - I am very suspicious that this
may not actually be from Grant, since it did not tell me to go fuck
myself.
Kait - not on July 29 or August 5
Brian - 7/22 seems good
1/30
My mother informs me that SP cannot be on 7/22 because they will
be in Alaska, that leaves us with 7/8, 8/5, and 8/12. I call Dave to
discuss, we rule out 7/8 because we don't want to end over trip early.
We decide 8/5 is better than 8/12, because 8/12 is very late in
the summer, when people start to head back to school. But Kate had
objected to 8/5, so I send her email to see if she can re-arrange her
schedule. Awaiting her reply.
2/1
Add theme site to page. Kait thinks she can get back early.
Sending out mass telling everyone SP2K is August 5th.
3/4
Add committee page to site, sending out email about theme.
Setting suggestion deadline of March 20.

Status report
Date: 8/5
Tickets: Under development by Dave, should be ready by June.
Theme: Lots of suggestions, narrowing down will happen in one week. Thinking of
putting the ballot on CD. Need to get "Lose Control".
Guest List: 48 non-Berries plus 8 Berries in book.
Morale: Very good. People are certainly excited, Committees are
forming and plans are being developed.
Pool: Closed

Total Eclipse of the Heart - Theme?
City Breakdown for Ballots:
Probably send to: Bill / Trevor, Shawn, Dave, Matt Morgan, Greg, Ivane, Brian?
Later note - I didn't mail any ballots to anyone. Oh well!

Put 60 lbs of grass seed down in bare spots on the lawn. Pops has
already applied lime & fertilized plus some sort of crab grass killer
earlier this month.
3/16
Call Greg to tell him that "Tubthumping" should be kickoff song, get unconfirmed.
3/20
Back from break, updating theme page & comm page. 83 themes
suggested. Jim wants to be chairman of alcohol and clean-up, which is
fine by me. Added Kasey to the book after enthusiasm she showed at
The Still on St. Patty's day about Super Prom. Fixed Ash & Sirkka's
emails on the list and added Leah A & Dave Hill.
3/26
Added Nate Book and Sara to book, since they went last year and will come again. Now 53 non-Berries.
4/16
.......... Crap! ..........
...............
Theme: I bought Summertime, Rush, and Should I Stay or Should I Go. Dave is going to burn me a CD with Laid, Girlfriend, etc, on it and send it down. Then I should be able to cut the Gala CD. Listening to Summertime did not get me ridiculously excited, I'm thinking Rush over that. Take on Me is also a great choice.
5/7
Just got off the phone with Jen, she does not hate us, and may
come to Super Prom, if she doesn't move to CA of course.
I'm thinking about inviting LOOKOUT (my design team) to SP. This would probably translate to Tiff and Kris coming (maybe both with dates).
-Status Report-
