Dear Chicken Brain,

Can you believe that it’s been nearly a year since the last Super Prom? By now you are probably going nuts, shivering feverishly from Super Prom withdrawal. Fortunately, your Super Prom Committee has been hard at work preparing your next fix, and Super Prom Nine will be held soon. So get ready for swimming, cheeseburger eating, dancing, and general Super Proming.

Super Prom Nine will be held on July 13th, at 2:00 PM at the Berry Compound. The theme this year is “Here I Go Again”, by Whitesnake, which won the Super Prom 2002 Theme Choosing Gala, which one third of you bothered to participate in.

Enclosed you will find that your ticket is not enclosed. Due to budget constraints, and because we're tired of people not donating to the SP Fund, we are unable to make your ticket until we have received your donation. Your ticket is a lovely hygienic Super Prom tee-shirt, with a spiffy logo on the front. Your ticket order will be processed when we receive your donation of $30 or more. This will cover the tee-shirt, as well your food, beer, and other Super Prom expenses. If you do not want the shirt, a non-wearable ticket will be available for a donation of $20. Also, please note that larger donations are always accepted.

Enclosed you will notice that an RSVP card has been enclosed. Please fill out the card and send it back, with your donation, in the pre-addressed stamped envelope we have graciously provided. On the card be sure to mark your ticket size. If you will be bringing a date who did not get an invitation, mark their information on the card as well. And pay for them. You have to send the RSVP back by June 29, since postage will increase on June 30. Plus we need time to make the tickets.

Super Prom 9 will feature all of your favorite things about your favorite day of the year. We will have all of the standard Super Prom activities - swimming, eating cheeseburgers, Slip N Slide, jumping on the trampoline, and sitting in the Gazebo. We will be awarding Supromlatives again, for categories including Rookie-of-the-Year, Most Improved, Chicken Limbo, and other things we think up. Plus we will hold the third annual Supromolympics competition. And of course the most prized award of all, Super Prom King and Queen, will be awarded. We also have a couple of other surprises in store, and we'll be making up new fun things to do until the very last minute. And as a bonus this year there will be two male Golden Retrievers again, so we'll see what happens.

As always, stay tuned to the official Super Prom website, www.superprom.com, to stay apprised of the latest SP9 developments. And of course check your email often for news and information in Super Prom messages. If you have questions or comments you can call the Super Prom hotline at (xxx) xxx-xxxx, or email maberry2@vt.edu. The house line is (xxx) xxx-xxxx, for Super Prom day emergencies.

Let me finish by saying this: This is going to be the best Super Prom ever. If you’ve never been to Super Prom before, now is the time to start. Super Prom is the best day of the year. Those of you who have been there before know what I mean.

See you at Super Prom,
Your Super Prom Committee:
